The Armidale School’s Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) provides a safe and supportive environment for children from Kindergarten and above. Based within the Junior School, the service supports TAS students and, where appropriate, children from the wider Armidale community, while ensuring the experience remains positive and enriching for those enrolled at the School.
A Connected and Supportive OSHC Environment
OSHC lives the TAS values of connection, courage and connection and follows the daily life of The Armidale School. The program reflects the School’s emphasis on strong relationships, personal growth and a sense of responsibility, creating a setting in which children feel known, supported and comfortable to be themselves.
After School Care operates from 3.30 pm to 6.00 pm during term time. Each afternoon includes a nutritious afternoon tea, time outdoors when conditions allow, and a range of activities that respond to children’s interests. Quiet spaces are also available for reading, homework or simply taking a break after a full school day.
Engaging and Flexible Vacation Care
During school holidays, the Vacation Care program runs from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm and is accessed by both TAS families and external families. A broad range of activities is offered across the program, including incursions and excursions. Planning is flexible and informed by the interests of the children attending, ensuring days remain engaging and purposeful rather than overly prescriptive.
Qualified Staff and Continuity of Care
All OSHC and Vacation Care staff are employees of The Armidale School and hold appropriate qualifications. Educators prioritise student wellbeing and safety, and their close connection with the Junior School supports continuity of care and a strong sense of belonging for each child.
Convenient, Affordable and Family-Friendly Care
The service is licensed and operates from the TAS Junior School campus, with convenient access via Gate 7 on Chapel Street. Fees are affordable, and Child Care Subsidy is available for eligible families.
