NAMING PRINCIPLES

The Naming Principles establish a framework for naming School buildings, facilities, prizes, scholarships, and awards to recognize individuals, families, or groups for their significant contributions to the School or community. Naming parts of the School provides the opportunity to acknowledge former students or staff for their impactful regional or global achievements, and offer posthumous honors to those with a connection to the School, whilst also aligning to the School values.

The Naming Principles have been established:

  • To honour an individual, family, a group of individuals or entity for outstanding and significant service to the School or the broader School community;
  • To honour former students or members of staff who have made an outstanding and positive contribution to the region, nation or been recognised internationally;
  • To provide the opportunity to family or the School to posthumously honour an individual who has a connection to the School, particularly when the person was enrolled as a student or the individual was a staff member at the time of death or was a former student or staff member.
    • We encourage you to nominate anyone that you think should be formally recognised by the School and that aligns with the School values. All nominations will be considered, but the decision remains with the Naming Committee and the TAS Board.
