From school and touring productions to debates, art shows and lectures, the Hoskins Centre is a place where the creative spirit is encouraged to flourish. The Michael Hoskins Creative Arts Centre was officially opened in March 2009 by TAS Old Boy, Michael Hoskins, whose vision for a spectacular home for the TAS creative and performing arts, communication and leadership, made it all possible.
Bookings and Performances
The TAS Hoskins Centre includes a fully equipped 230 seat theatre with raked seating, two rehearsal rooms, three art studios, dressing rooms and green room. The foyer is an art gallery with an ever-evolving exhibition of student art works adorning the walls, adding to the impressive ambience of the architecturally designed glass panelled walls that provide an ideal space for theatrical performances, conferences, lectures, and movie presentations.
The Hoskins Centre is also a venue for hire
This inviting venue also offers a well-stocked bar, available for hire. As part of this hire, we provide service of a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages plus snacks for the enjoyment of audience members.
Whilst also a venue for school events such as assemblies, musical productions and House events, the TAS Hoskins Centre regularly plays host to visiting external theatre practitioners such as Shock Therapy Arts, the Newcastle Chamber Choir, Got Ya Back Productions, Ziggy Harris Opera Recitals and the Armidale Music & Drama Society (ADMS). The TAS Hoskins Centre also regularly hosts lectures for Arts National Armidale.
