Creative Arts Scholarships

'It's Show Time' ... TAS is proud to offer a range of Creative Arts Scholarships to interested students from Year 7 and above who exhibit demonstrable talent and ability in the Creative Arts, encompassing disciplines such as Art, Music or Drama. 
 
Register before Friday 6 September for a chance to audition and make TAS your school of choice for 2025 and beyond.
 

TAS Creative Arts Scholarships


Application Requirements
Middle School

Art 

  • Visual arts process diary, with ideas, inspiration and explanation of the student’s artistic practice, plus 3 complete artworks in the applicant’s chosen medium. The diary and finished artworks should demonstrate the applicant's strengths in both conceptual and material practice.

Music 

  • Video of 2 contrasting pieces (per instrument). Applicants are to provide a reference from their instrumental/vocal teacher. 

Drama 

  • Applicants are to interpret 2 monologues from the following list and film their performances in one take with lines memorised and show blocking of movement. 

Application Requirements
Senior School

Art

  • The Visual Arts applicant should submit 4 works demonstrating conceptual and material strength in more than one medium across 2D, 3D or 4D artforms. Applicants will need to submit their Visual Arts Diary which documents their conceptual and material practice and gives insight into their inspirations and influences.

Music

  • Video of 2 contrasting pieces (per instrument). Applicants are to provide a reference from their instrumental/vocal teacher.

OR

Music Composition

  • A recording and notation (traditional or graphic notation) of 2 compositions and a composition portfolio outlining the composition process. 

Drama 

  • Applicants are to interpret 2 monologues from the following list and film their performances in one take with lines memorised and show blocking of movement. 

 

Application Information


To be included with your application:

  • A three hundred-word introduction outlining your interests, aspirations, and broader creative pursuits
  • List of experiences to date (how long they’ve been learning it, ensembles, competitions, performance experience, work experience, etc.)
  • Qualifications/Awards (AMEB, scholarships, Trinity, Eisteddfods, etc.)
  • Names of tutors/mentors/artists/theatre companies/workshops attended.

 

 

 

 

How to Apply

Please click on the button below to be directed to an application form. Complete the form, upload your submission materials, and submit your application. 

Once your application is submitted,  a confirmation message will appear on the screen.

Applications close on Friday, 6 September. After that, your application will be assessed, and you will be notified by email or telephone of the outcome and to arrange a suitable audition time.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete an online TAS application (discount code will be provided).

At this stage, interviews for shortlisted applicants will take place on Saturday 19 October, 2024.
