Tuition and Boarding Fees
We seek to be transparent with fees including tuition, residential and co-curricular activities. School fees and other costs are determined by the School Board and are subject to annual increases.
Please note that all School fees and other charges are due and payable at the time specified on accounts. Failure to keep tuition and boarding fees up to date may affect a student’s eligibility for certain co-curricular programs.
Sibling Discounts
TAS offers generous sibling discounts for families sending more than one child to the school. These discounts apply to tuition fees only and are as follows:
2nd Child | 20% Discount |
3rd Child | 30% Discount |
Additional Children | 40% Discount |
Where a family is receiving fee assistance or discounted fees, the sibling discounts will not apply.
Flexible fee payments with Edstart
For any families wanting options to help spread upfront education costs into a series of simple payments, TAS has entered into an arrangement with Edstart which has two alternatives for interested parents to consider; Edstart Pay for spreading payments over a 12 month period, or Edstart Extend which reduces payments over a longer period - up to 5 years after your youngest child finishes Year 12. Both these options are available for TAS parents.

Needs Based Fees Assistance
Thanks to the work of our School Foundation and various benefactors, there are a number of fee assistance bursaries/awards available for families in financial need. We are committed to offering needs-based awards to students whose families show a genuine and demonstrable financial need. These offerings vary in size according to personal circumstances.
Completion of a Fees Assistance Application Form is required by all applicants as is providing financial documentation which is assessed by an external accountant. An interview is also required for students not currently enrolled at TAS. If you are interested in completing a Fees Assistance Application Form, please contact the Enrolments Registrar, Mrs Jo Neilson on [email protected]. It is important to note that the TAS Application for Enrolment fee of $220 must have been paid upfront.
With thanks to our generous benefactors
TAS and the TAS Foundation are indebted to the many generous benefactors who give tirelessly to the School in their lifetimes or by leaving provision for the School in their wills. This has enabled us to provide financial needs based fees assistance to families in times of hardship, drought, flood, fire or when circumstances demand it.
Our available fees-assistance awards include:
The Rex Budd Memorial Scholarship is named in honour of TAS Old Boy and long standing member of the TAS Foundation, Rex Budd.
The Lisa Elaine Cameron Bursaries were established to honour Lisa and her life of generous benefaction to TAS. Lisa was the only sister of Old Boy Neyle Kingsmill Cameron both growing up in Grafton but coming to Armidale for their education.
Lisa’s great generosity and support of TAS families in financial need began when she established a bursary in her brother’s name. Now, through gifts from her family, we are honoured to be able to award additional bursaries in Lisa’s name.
These bursaries are established in memory of Neyle Kingsmill Cameron, a prominent Grafton businessman and TAS Old Boy who attended TAS from 1936 – 1939. The bursaries are awarded to families in need of financial assistance who will benefit from a TAS education and make the most of the opportunities the school provides.
Where possible, each bursary is awarded to a student from the Clarence or North Coast area. These bursaries were established by his sister Lisa Elaine Cameron and her generosity has resulted in many TAS students receiving an education they may not have otherwise had access to.
The Aberbaldie Trust was established by Stephen Scammell (UK) in association with Bob Hyman (Tamworth) to provide bursaries for students whose family is principally involved in the agricultural sector.
Fees assistance is made available through the investments of the TAS Foundation, as a result of generous benefactions and donations of past and present generations of the TAS family.
These are awarded from a Trust fund set up in 1962 by Keith Mackay. The funds are awarded to “students of more than average ability who might not have otherwise been able to enrol at the school”.
During his 21 years as Headmaster at TAS, Murray Guest had an indelible impact on thousands of students and hundreds of staff, educating, supporting and inspiring them to be the best they can be.
His influence on generations of boys and girls will be life-long and under his visionary and innovative stewardship, The Armidale School has grown and flourished to become one of the leading co-educational boarding schools in the country. His tragic loss has been devastating, but his rich legacy lives on.
In his memory, the TAS Foundation have launched the Murray Guest Scholarship which will be available to assist a worthy student attend TAS, who otherwise would not be able to do so.
For students entering Years 7 to 11 who are the sons or daughters of members of the Old Armidalians’ Union.
Scholarships are to provide for such children of the clergy (including deceased Clergymen) of the Anglican Church within the said Diocese of Armidale and/or such sons of Old Armidalians of The Armidale School.
Allocation from the Centenary Foundation.
