Diverse Learning

The emphasis of the Diverse Learning Department, at all levels of the school, is to eliminate barriers to learning. This enables students who benefit from different ways of learning to succeed, relative to their potential.

Support in our Junior School

Our classroom activities are designed to have outcomes that are achievable by all students to allow them to understand their own academic progress and to encourage their own distinct passion for learning. The Diverse Learning Department in the Junior School assesses students in the early stages of their education and guidance and assistance is given if it is needed. In class and out of class support is also provided and parents are closely informed and included.

Middle and Senior School Academic Support

In the Middle and Senior schools support is also provided across the curriculum in order that these crucial skills be further developed and maintained. All subjects rely on literacy and numeracy so these foundational building blocks must be embedded to allow every child to progress successfully. It is important to us that our students develop, not only skills, but confidence and self esteem. The Diverse Learning Department, like all areas of the school, contributes to this. Our philosophy is not to focus on what a student cannot do but rather on what they can.
